Before I Was A Mom

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him/her down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

Do Not Accept This Dollar

Look closely. See anything missing??? You guessed it, IN GOD WE TRUST. Please help do this... refuse to accept these when they are handed back to you. I received one from the Post Office as change and I asked for a dollar bill instead..the lady just smiled and said way to go, so she had read this e-mail...please help out. If ever there was a reason to boycott something, THIS IS IT!!!! DO NOT ACCEPT THE NEW DOLLAR COINS AS CHANGE. Together we can force them out of circulation.
THIS REALLY IS SO SAD TO ME. TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS AND ALSO SHARE THIS WITH EVERYONE.

Psychoanalyze Yourself‏

Psychoanalyze Yourself; Don't read ahead, just answer the following questions with the first thought that comes to mind. Then read what each answer means at the end. (No cheating! )
Get a Piece of paper and # it 1-10. Answers will be in the comments.
1. You are walking in the woods. You are not alone. Who is with you?

2. You are walking in the woods. You see an animal. What kind of animal?

3. What interaction takes place between you and the animal?

4. You walk deeper in the woods. You enter a clearing and you see your dream house. Whats it look like?

5. Is your dream house surrounded by a fence?

6. You enter the house. You walk into the dining room and see the dining room table, what is on it?

7. You exit the house and a cup is on the ground, what kind is it?

8. What do you do with the cup?

9. You walk to the edge of the property where you find yourself standing at a body of water how big is it??

10. How will you cross the water?

I Have A Question

  • Why do croutons come in airtight packages? Aren't they just stale bread to begin with?
  • Do Lipton Tea employees take "coffee breaks?"
  • What hair color do they put on the driver's licenses of bald men?
  • As income tax time approaches, did you ever notice: When you put the two words "The" and "IRS" together, it spells "THEIRS"?

  • I thought about how mothers feed their babies with tiny little spoons and forks, so I wondered what do Chinese mothers use. Toothpicks?

CAN YOU COME UP WITH ONE??

Humor from Bible School

LOT 'S WIFE
The Sunday School teacher was describing how Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt, when little Jason interrupted, "My Mummy looked back once, while she was driving," he announced triumphantly, " and she turned into a telephone pole!"
DID NOAH FISH?
A Sunday school teacher asked, "Johnny, do you think Noah did a lot of fishing when he was on the Ark ?" "No," replied David. "How could he, with just two worms?"
HIGHER POWER
A Sunday school teacher said to her children, " We have been learning how powerful kings and queens were in Bible times. But, there is a higherpower.
Can anybody tell me what it is?" One child blurted out, "Aces!"

The Love Letter

God has written a letter to you.
It goes something like this....

Dear Child,

You may not know me, but I know everything about you. Psalm 139:1
I know when you sit down and when you rise up. I am familiar with all your ways. Psalm 139:3
For you were made in my image. Genesis 1:27
You are my offspring. Acts 17:28
Your were not a mistake. For all your days are written in my book. Psalm 139:15-18
I determined the exact time of your birth and where you would live. Acts 17:28
My plan for your future has always been filled with hope. Jeremiah 27:11
My thoughts toward you are countless as the sand on the seashore. Psalm 139:17-18
And I rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3:17
When you are broken hearted, I am close to you. Psalm 34:18
As a sheperd carries a lamb, I have carried you close to my heart. Isaiah 40:11
One day I will wipe away every tear from your eyes. And I'll take away all the pain you have suffered on this earth. Revelations 21:3-4
I gave up everything I loved so that I might gain your
love. Romans 8:31-32
My Question is:
Will you be my child? John 1: 12-13
I am waiting for you. Luke 15:11-32

A Special Thanks To My Mom

Let me just take a moment and say a few things about my mother.......
This woman has a heart of gold and anyone that knows her will tell you that. Whenever she does something she does it to the extreme. She has blessed me and my family for years. It's not only the amazing gifts she gives it's the love she shares. My kids wouldn't know what to do without their " YA YA". When Grace was just an itty bitty baby she came in and swooped her up every week. There wasn't more than a few days that went by that she didn't get her Gracie fix.
Then when things got a little hard on myself my mom took me in once again. I couldn't thank her enough for that. She helped me become the mother I am today. I learned so much from her at that time and I cherish all those nights we sat up and talked. Thanks Mom.

Then I got it together and started a family of my own. I think Mom was happy to see me go. he he he. But the giving never stopped. She has provided clothes for both my kids since the day I brought them home. She is always stopping in with a bag in her hand with something she found "on sale". It really warms my heart that she is always thinking of others especially her grand kids! I would also like to mention that she has helped me with my new house tremendously. For Christmas she got me all new carpet! I just love it. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Last but certainly not least my Mom has given me something more precious than anything you can purchase, her friendship! There isn't a day that goes by that I don't talk to her. I never would have thought that we could have what we have. I believe that during the bad circumstances that we were going through God made it good with giving us something that will last a lifetime!! A true and lasting friendship.

I love you mommy, you are truly the best!!!

Thank You from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done and all that you continue to do!

Lipoma

Have you ever heard of such a thing?

STORY: About four days ago I took my kids sledding and Nina, my 65 lb German Shepard tagged along. Well lets just say that at the end of our very last run Evan was standing at the bottom of the hill and Nina plowed into him like a 200lb football player.

So he has been sore and not sleeping that great. Last night he was complaining that his head hurt. So being the mother that I am, I thoroughly check every inch of his little head. That's when I found a pea size lump. In the morning I called the doctor and they got him in right away.

His diagnosis: Lipoma

A lipoma is a harmless lump of fat. There are several different types, classified mainly by where they appear. The most common location is just beneath the skin, where they are easily felt, but they can occur anywhere.
Most tissue in the body can grow beyond its normal limits and form a lump or tumor. Tumors come in two forms: benign and malignant. Malignancies are referred to as cancers, which rarely stop growing. Benign tumors reach a certain size and then stop growing. Moles, polyps, and lipomas are examples of benign tumors. Some of these can turn into cancers, but lipomas do not.

SIDE NOTE: When the doctor said he thought it what Lipoma, I heard LYMPHOMA. Can you imagine the look on my face. I am sitting there thinking this doctor just touched my son's head and diagnosed him with cancer??? But, then he started to desrcibe it and I felt my heart go back into my chest.

New Baby On The Way??

Sibling Issues

This is something I thought about when my second pea was on his way. How was my baby girl ever going to cope with being out of the spot light? Well I thought I would share some great ideas for all of you that may be extending your family!

(Al, thanks for the inspiration!)

Idea # 1

Purchase a doll that can be bathed. Have your child play with it prior to the new baby's arrival. Each night have them assist you in bathing the doll's feet and legs. Then when the baby comes they will be able to be involved in your baby's nightly bath. Always praise them and assure them of what a great help they are to you.

Idea #2

I also let my daughter be very involved with the pregnancy. She was shown and taught each week what was developing on the baby. She also went to the sonogram visit and seen the baby on the "t.v"! Every week that went by in the end she would ask " Is the baby coming out today?" She was filled with anticipation.

Idea #3

No matter how young your child, have him meet the baby in the hospital. "Your being away for the birth might be your child's first long separation from you. Going to see you reduces the scariness. Don't expect too much bonding during the visit; your older child's emotions are sure to be overwhelming and mixed, so just follow his lead and give lots of hugs. Gifts from the baby to the big kid and vice versa will help smooth their first encounter.

And My last bit of advice is:

Once you're all home, you'll inevitably be engrossed in caring for your newborn while trying to meet the needs of your older child -- and wondering how you can survive the whole thing on little sleep. But try to find time every day for just your older child. Leave the baby with Daddy or Grandma while you and your big kid slip out of the house for ice cream or a trip to the playground. Let her know that she is important -- and that she is not replaceable

A Gift

All I wanted was to have my two!
My Girl, My Boy
and then I was through.
But something within
has second guessed my plan.
This hunger, this want
for a third in my hand.
Some friends and family
think the idea is lewd.
To that I only think
of a baby boy named Jude.
So I start this blog
with 2 peas in my pod.
With hopes & prayers
the third comes from God!
