Dedication verses Baptism

I come from a family that was raised Lutheran. We (my brother and I) were then also raised in the Lutheran church and was taught to believe that we are to baptise babies. Well I am now a mother of 3 and a Christian and have had my 2 eldest children dedicated to the Lord. Dedication process includes the following: the pastors of the church has our family come up to the altar; they announce the name of our baby and what that name means; then they pray for such child and give that baby to the Lord (meaning that we dedicate this child to you God and pray that He will direct his or her path).

Why we do this: We Dedicate because we believe that it should be the choice of our children to be baptised. We believe that a baptism is something sacred and that it should be made when you can fully understand WHY people get baptised. At our church they have a baptism class so that you learn what it means to be baptised and read all the scripture pertaining to baptism. NOTE: I was baptised as a baby and then I chose to be baptised AGAIN as an adult.

NOTE:In the bible there is not one mention of a baby being baptised.

So like I said before, I was raised Lutheran. Some of my family think that this gesture is "weird". Well all I have to say is that we all have the right to believe what it is that we believe. I will have Samuel Patrick dedicated this Sunday to our Lord. THAT is what I have chosen to do~!

Can I get an AMEN!

P.S. I read through this again and this could be taken the wrong way... I was just merely educating you about the dedication process not saying anything is the matter with baby baptism!

Back to my Faith

When I decided to blog I thought it would also be a great outlet to share my FAITH and also my experiences. I have been really digging into the word (God's word) and have some things I would love to share!
Did you know that no matter what God loves you??!! That he chooses to love us through any circumstance we may be in! Did you know that we have to choose to love??!! It is not just how we feel "right now". When I said my vows to my husband they were not just empty words that tradition has you say at the altar. When you say "in sickness and in health" or "for richer or for poorer" or even " in good times and in bad" that you are suppose to really mean it. It is easy to be "in love" when things are going smoothly and finances are OK. But when all hope seems lost, do you just turn your back on the one you said you love before God and all your family? NO... you choose to LOVE. It is a choice you make that takes a lot of hard work! It is a choice you make to LOVE NO MATTER WHAT. People are so easy to write off someone in their life when they get hurt or offended, but the best thing you can really do (for you and for them) is to Love them anyway~!
I CHOOSE TO LOVE! DO YOU?

The obvious

I do realize that my blog name does not fit my status anymore and should be changed, but I have grown quite attached to it. 2 Peas In My Pod was created with a yearning for my third so I feel like Sammy was still included. So I would love to hear your suggestions. My thought was that I could just add something in the text under the title that would include Samuel. Do you feel like I need to change the name all together?? Give me ideas!!!

I am back!!

As all of you know I have been a little busy with my new family status and have had little to no time to blog. I do however still check in and read all of your posts! I thought that if I gave my blog a fresh look it would inspire me to post more often, so we will see how that goes! I will try to let this be part of my routine, a way to vent/connect/share whats going on in this chaos I call my life! So much to share, not enough hours in the day! Looking forward to a new year!
